My dehumidifier runs but the bucket stays empty. Why?
A dirty filter, a frozen coil, a failed humidity sensor or low refrigerant can stop collection. A cool room below the unit's working range can also cause it. Clean the filter, check the room temperature and call if nothing changes.
Why does the coil keep freezing?
Low room temperature, poor airflow or a dirty filter are typical. In a cool closet or crawlspace the coil may ice faster than the unit can defrost it. We check airflow, the sensor and the defrost control.
Is it worth repairing a ten-year-old dehumidifier?
Sometimes, when the fix is a fan, a float switch or a sensor. If the compressor or the sealed system has failed, replacement usually costs less. We explain which case you have before work begins.
