What F0 means
F0 on a Frigidaire dehumidifier with a digital display is the other half of the sealed system alert that EC also reports. It applies to the FFAD, FFAP and FGAC families. The sealed system is the closed cooling circuit that chills the coil and pulls moisture out of the air. When F0 shows, the unit is telling you that circuit is not working as it should, and it may run without removing any water.
Common causes of F0
- The compressor is not starting or running
- A loss of refrigerant in the sealed system
- A control or sensor problem that mimics a cooling failure
- A weak outlet or room conditions outside the design range
1. Unplug the unit and make sure the room is a normal indoor temperature. 2. Plug it into a wall outlet directly, with no extension cord. 3. Restart the unit and listen for the compressor to start. 4. If F0 returns, turn the unit off and call us.
- F0 points to the cooling circuit, but a control problem can report the same way, so we test before naming a repair.
- We do not ask owners to open the unit or work near the sealed system.
- If the sealed system has failed on an older unit, we will tell you plainly whether a repair is worth the cost.
Other Dehumidifier codes
What does F0 mean?
F0 means the cooling circuit that removes moisture is not working properly. The unit may run, but it will pull little or no water. It needs testing to find the cause.
Is F0 the same as EC?
They are listed together as a sealed system failure. We test the same things for either one: power at the unit, the compressor, and whether a control problem is causing the report.
Should I replace the dehumidifier?
Not before testing. If the sealed system is the cause on an older unit, repair may cost more than it is worth. We give you honest numbers in writing so you can decide.
Still seeing F0?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
