The FCRG3005A is a 30 in gas range with sealed gas burners, even baking technology and a Store-More storage drawer. A version ending in W, FCRG3005AW, is sold too. Frigidaire shows the range as discontinued, so it is an older model, and it is a common sight in rental houses and long-time family kitchens.
Sealed burners keep spills on top of the cooktop rather than letting them fall below, which is why the cooktop wipes clean. It also means the burner cap and base need to sit exactly right. The flame on one sealed burner is smaller than the others. What do you do?
We clean the burner head and ports, make sure the cap sits flat, and check the spark electrode. If the flame is still low, we look at the gas flow to that burner.
Why does my FCRG3005A oven take so long to heat?
A weak igniter is often slow to open the gas valve. We measure how much current it draws and watch how long the oven burner takes to light. A dirty burner tube can also slow things down.
Does the Store-More drawer need any service?
The drawer is just a storage space on rails. We repair it if it sticks, tilts or comes off the track, and we take care not to store anything flammable in it.
