What Lock means
On Frigidaire ranges and wall ovens with a self-clean latch, such as the FFEF3054TS and FGET3065PF, the word Lock on the display means the Oven Lock feature is active. The door locked indicator flashes, and the oven will not start while the lock is on. It is a setting you or someone else turned on, and it also appears during self-clean. It is not an error.
Common causes of Lock
- The Oven Lock setting turned on by a key press
- A self-clean cycle in progress or just finished
- A control that does not release the lock
- The latch if the indicator keeps flashing
1. Press OFF and hold it for 6 seconds. 2. Wait for the word Lock to leave the display. 3. Check whether a self-clean cycle is still running, since the oven stays locked then. 4. Do not pull on the door while the indicator flashes.
- If Lock stays after the hold, the question is the keys or the latch.
- We test the keys and the latch.
- A written price comes first.

Is Lock a problem?
No. It means the Oven Lock is on. Holding OFF for 6 seconds cancels it on these models, and the oven can then be used as usual.
Why does the indicator flash with Lock?
The door locked indicator flashes while the lock is active or the latch is moving. That is normal during self-clean, and it is not a sign that anything is wrong.
What if holding OFF does not cancel Lock?
Then we test the keys and the latch. We tell you plainly what we find before any repair, and you get a written price first.
Still unsure about Lock?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
