What E23 / E24 means

Frigidaire front-load washers built around the horizontal-axis electronic control use E23 and E24 to report a failed drain pump relay on the control board. The relay is the switch on the board that sends power to the drain pump. The codes appear on the 3.0 cubic foot Frigidaire and Gallery washers from about 2004 to 2006, the Affinity 6000 and 7000 Series from 2006, and the 3.5 cubic foot Affinity from 2009 to 2012. You may see water left in the drum and a pump that never runs. Washers like these are still working in plenty of Houston homes.

Common causes of E23 / E24

The drain pump relay on the control board
The wiring or connector between the board and the pump
The drain pump itself, which may not be getting power or may be seized

1. Switch the washer off at the outlet for a few minutes, then restore power. 2. Look along the drain hose for a kink. 3. Leave the door shut while there is water in the drum. 4. Call us if the water stays in the drum.
