What LED flash-count codes (non-display models) means
The Frigidaire and Gallery 3.0 cu ft front-load washers of roughly 2004 to 2006, in the Good and Better lines, have no display on the lower models. Instead they show their error codes by flashing the indicator lights. The five lights marked Door Lock, Wash, Rinse, Final Spin and Control flash a number of times for the first digit, and the Start light flashes for the second. Letters A through F count as 10 through 15, so E41 is four flashes and one, and EF1 is fifteen flashes and one. These older washers are still in many Houston homes.
Common causes of LED flash-count codes (non-display models)
- Whatever condition the flash count points to, such as a door, drain, heat or motor circuit
- Control board that is flashing a code it cannot clear
- Console lights themselves if no flashes are readable
1. Turn the washer off and watch the lights when it is turned back on. 2. Count the flashes of the five lights, then the Start light. 3. Write down both numbers and call us, or look up the matching code on our site. 4. Do not keep restarting a washer that flashes the same pattern each time.
- A flash pattern is only a code, and we still have to test the circuit it points to.
- We read the pattern, test that circuit and give you a written price before replacing anything.
- If the washer is old enough that a repair does not make sense, we tell you.
Other Washer codes
How do I count the flashes?
Watch the five lights for the first number, then the Start light for the second. If you count a number above 9, that is a letter: 10 is A, 11 is B and so on up to F.
What would E41 look like?
Four flashes of the indicator lights followed by one flash of the Start light. It follows the same pattern as the displayed code. We can read the pattern during a visit and test the circuit it points to.
Why does my washer have no display?
Lower-tier models in this line use lights only. The codes mean the same as on models with a display. Lower models in that line use lights only, and the codes mean the same as on models with a display.
