What EBE means
EBE is a console control code on Frigidaire Affinity 6000 and 7000 front-load washers of the 2006 and 2009 to 2012 generations. It is listed in the Affinity charts only, not for the earlier 3.0 cu ft washers. The control found a problem with the panel circuit, the same group of conditions that E82 and E97 report. Owners see a washer that will not start properly or stops soon after starting.
Common causes of EBE
- Console board or processor
- Harness to the console
- Keys or selector contacts
1. Turn the washer off and wait for the display to go dark. 2. Turn it on again and try a short cycle. 3. Make sure the panel is dry. 4. If EBE comes back, stop using the washer. 5. If EBE comes back, stop using the washer and call us. Tell us whether it showed at power-up or mid-cycle.
- EBE points to the panel circuit but does not name the part.
- We test the connections, then the panel, and give you a written price before replacing anything.
- On an older washer we say plainly if a repair is not worth it.
Other Washer codes
Is EBE a different problem from E82?
They sit in the same console group, so the circuit being tested is the same. The exact cause can still differ, and we find it by testing the panel.
Is EBE the same as EBF?
They are related console codes. We treat each one the same way and test the panel circuit. We test the panel circuit for both codes and tell you what we find before any work.
Can I keep washing?
If it starts, you can try, but the code can return. We would rather test it than have it quit mid-load. If it starts, you may try, but we would rather not see a heavy load quit part way through.
Still seeing EBE?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
