What E013 / E014 / E015 means
Frigidaire ranges with the ESEC-UIB and ESEC rotary or relay boards use three-digit E codes to report trouble inside the control system. E013 points to a bad EEPROM, the memory chip that holds the control settings. E014 means the control lost its display tail or its keyboard tail, the ribbon links to the panel. E015 means the ESEC self test failed or the relay board is not sending its sync signal. You may see a blank or frozen display, keys that do nothing, or surface elements that will not run.
Common causes of E013 / E014 / E015
- The memory on the control that holds its settings (E013)
- The ribbon or tail connections between the display, keyboard and control (E014)
- The ESEC relay board and its sync link to the control (E015)
- Connectors that have loosened over time at the boards
1. Write down which of the three codes is showing, since each one points somewhere different. 2. Turn the range off and check that nothing has spilled onto the control panel. 3. Take power away from the range for a short while at the outlet or breaker, restore it, and see whether the code returns. 4. Leave the panel and the wiring behind it alone.
- The three codes are close relatives, so we confirm which one the board is actually reporting before we plan any work.
- We test the links between the display, keyboard and relay boards, along with the supply to each.
- If a board turns out to be the cause, we quote a written price and say plainly whether it makes sense for the age of the range.
Other Range codes
Are these three codes the same problem?
They are in the same family, but each points somewhere different: memory, panel links, or the relay board sync. We read which one it is first so we do not guess at a part.
Can a loose connection cause E014?
Yes, E014 describes a lost display or keyboard link, and a loose tail can do that. A broken board can do it too. That is why we test the connection before we say a board needs replacing.
Do you repair older ranges with these boards?
Yes. Plenty of these older ranges remain in Houston homes, and repairing them is routine for us. We give you a written price before work and say honestly when a repair is not worth it.
Still seeing E013 / E014 / E015?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
