PCFG3078A
Frigidaire PCFG3078A Gas Range Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Burner igniters and flame pattern on all five burners
- Oven igniter glow and gas valve opening
- Convection fan speed and airflow in Air Fry
- Temperature probe connection
The PCFG3078A is a Frigidaire Professional gas range, 30 inches wide, with front controls plus Air Fry and True Convection. It has a five burner cooktop and an Effortless Temperature Probe, and it is also sold as PCFG3078AF. Frigidaire has retired it, but plenty of them still work hard in Houston homes.
A gas range like this needs a gas connection with a shutoff behind it and a standard outlet for the electronics. If the oven lights slowly or never reaches temperature, we test the oven igniter first, because a weak igniter may glow without opening the gas valve. For Air Fry results that disappoint, we look at the convection fan and airflow. Up top, each of the five burners gets cleaned and its igniter tested.
Parts wait until the plate has been read. You approve a quote in writing, and the finished job is warranted for 30 days.

The oven on my PCFG3078A glows but never lights. Why?
An igniter that has aged can glow yet not pull enough current to open the gas valve. We measure its draw, replace it when it is weak and then watch the flame.
What do you check when Air Fry results are poor on a gas range?
The convection fan, its motor and the airflow around it, plus the oven temperature against the set point. Gas ovens also need a steady flame, so we inspect the burner and igniter.
Do you test gas connections during a visit?
We look at the shutoff, flex line and fittings while the range is out. If we ever smell gas, we stop, shut the valve and tell you what to do before any repair continues.
