FGRC124WA
Frigidaire FGRC124WA Smart Unit Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Power cord, plug and outlet condition
- Compressor behavior at start and at full load
- Fan motor and airflow across the coil
- Smart control board response
The FGRC124WA is a 12,000 BTU Gallery Cool Connect window air conditioner with Wi-Fi control. It is ENERGY STAR certified and ships with a power cord, and it is an older model now. In Houston it often cools a large room, so we pay attention to the cord and outlet as well as the unit.
We start with the electrical supply: the cord, the plug and the outlet, since a unit this size draws a lot of power. Then we look at the compressor at start and under load, the fan motor, the filter and the coil. If the smart controls do not respond, we test the panel and the board so we only quote what the unit needs.
This number is also listed as FGRC124WA1 and FGRC124WAE. We confirm the full model and serial on the label before we order a part, write the price down before work begins, and cover the repair with a 30-day warranty.

Error codes this model can show
Why does my 12,000 BTU unit trip the circuit?
A worn cord, a shared outlet or a weak compressor start can overload the circuit. We check the cord and outlet first, then the compressor, and quote in writing before any part is replaced.
Is the ENERGY STAR rating affected by repair?
Repairing the unit with the correct parts keeps it working as designed. We do not alter how it operates, and we confirm your exact model so the parts we order match it.
Which numbers are variants of this model?
FGRC124WA1 and FGRC124WAE are listed as variants. We do not assume parts are interchangeable between them, so we read the complete number from the label on your unit and match the part to that exact revision before ordering.
