FGRC0844S
Frigidaire FGRC0844S Wi-Fi AC Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Wi-Fi control and the panel's response
- Coils and filter loaded with dust or lint
- Compressor start and running behavior
- Window mounting tilt for proper drainage
The FGRC0844S is an 8,000 BTU Gallery Cool Connect smart window air conditioner in white, and it is now an older model. This size usually serves a medium bedroom or a small living room, and in Houston it tends to run hard from late spring into October.
We begin with the mounting, because a unit that tilts the wrong way drains badly. Then we inspect the filter, the front and rear coils, the fan and the compressor. Since the unit has Wi-Fi control, we also check how the panel and the control board respond so a connection problem is not mistaken for a cooling problem.
The same model is also sold as FGRC0844S1. We confirm the complete number and serial from the label before ordering anything, quote the price in writing, and include a 30-day workmanship warranty with the repair.

What does an 8,000 BTU window unit usually need after years of use?
Cleaning is the first step: filter, coils and drain path. Then we test the fan and the compressor. We tell you what we find and what the repair costs before any part is ordered.
The unit turns on but will not connect to Wi-Fi. What do you check?
We make sure the unit runs from its own panel, then test the control board. If the board has failed, we quote the part. If the issue is your home network, we explain what to try.
Is FGRC0844S1 the same as FGRC0844S?
Yes, it is listed as the same model, just with a revision suffix. We read the number from the label and match the part to that exact revision.
