On the Frigidaire Affinity 6000 and 7000 front-load washers, E83 is another console control problem code. It is listed for the 2006 washers and for the 3.5 cu ft Affinity washers of about 2009 to 2012, and it does not appear on the earlier 3.0 cu ft washers. The control has found that something is wrong with the panel that holds the knob, keys and display. The result can be a washer that will not accept a cycle, ignores the keys or stops soon after starting while E83 stays on the display.
