What E57 means

An E57 on a Frigidaire front-load washer points to high current on the inverter, the part of the control that drives the drum motor. The code belongs to the horizontal-axis electronic control in the Frigidaire and Gallery 3.0 cu ft washers of about 2004 to 2006 and the Affinity 6000 and 7000 series. When the inverter sees too much current, the washer shuts the motor down so nothing overheats. You will see the cycle stop, often during spin, and E57 on the display. It is a control-side code rather than a drum problem on its own.
