What E35 means

E35 on Frigidaire front-load washers with the horizontal-axis electronic control means the pressure sensor shows the water has overfilled the drum. This covers the 3.0 cubic foot Frigidaire and Gallery washers from about 2004 to 2006 on the Better models, the Affinity 6000 and 7000 Series from 2006, and the 3.5 cubic foot Affinity from 2009 to 2012. On the 2004 washers, three beeps signal it. An overfill can come from the inlet valve, the pressure switch or the control board. You may see water above the door glass or a washer that will not drain.

1. Do not open the door. 2. Select Drain/Spin to remove the water. 3. Restart the cycle once the water is out. 4. If the water level climbs again, turn the faucets off and call us. 5. Turn the water supply faucets off if the level keeps climbing.

Why should I not open the door?

If the drum is full, opening the door can flood the floor. Let the washer drain first. If it will not drain, call us. Never open it while the drum is full of water.

Can E35 cause a flood?

It can if the inlet valve will not shut and water keeps coming in. Turn the faucets off if you see the level climbing, then call us. We check the valve and the sensor.

Is an older washer worth repairing after an overfill?
