What dr / do means
On Frigidaire Affinity 6000 and 7000 Series front-load washers, dr or do on the display during normal operation tells you there is a door problem. This covers the 2006 generation and the 2009 to 2012 3.5 cubic foot generation. The washer will not run a cycle until the door is closed and locked, so you may see the code when you start a load, find the washer stopped mid-cycle, or see a door that will not open afterward. Washers from this era are still working in Houston, and fixing them is routine for us.
Common causes of dr / do
- A door that is not fully closed or is held by a fold of clothing
- A door latch or lock that does not register
- The door switch or its wiring
- A door seal or hinge that shifts the door out of line
1. Open the door and check for clothing stuck in the opening. 2. Close the door firmly until it latches. 3. Wipe the door seal and the edge of the opening. 4. Restart the cycle and watch the display. 5. Keep children away from the door until the washer has stopped.
- If dr or do stays on with a closed door, we do not know whether the latch, the switch or the wiring is involved.
- We check how the door lines up, then test the latch and the switch.
- A written price comes first, and on a washer this old we weigh the repair against its value with you.
Other Washer codes
What do dr and do mean?
Both point to a door problem on these Affinity washers. The control does not see the door closed and locked, so it will not run.
Will the door open with a code showing?
It may stay locked for a moment while the washer decides the cycle is done. If it stays locked and the drum has water, do not force it. Call us.
Is it worth repairing an older Affinity washer?
Often it is, since a door part is a modest repair. You get the price on paper first, and if the washer is not worth fixing we say that before you pay for anything.
Still seeing dr / do?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
