GCRE302LA
Frigidaire Gallery GCRE302LA Electric Range (Quick Bake) Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Quick Bake Convection fan and the element around it
- Expandable element rings and their switches
- Quick Boil element heat
- Steam clean cycle: door seal and oven floor
The GCRE302LA is a Frigidaire Gallery 30-inch electric range with Quick Bake Convection, SpaceWise Expandable Elements, Quick Boil and steam cleaning.
An electric range with expandable elements lets a burner switch between a smaller and a larger ring, and each ring has its own heat path, so a half-cold element is often a switch or a ring issue rather than a dead element. In the oven, we check the convection fan, the bake element and the sensor first. If steam cleaning leaves the oven damp or the cycle stops early, we check the door seal and the oven floor.
Plenty of Houston kitchens still use this discontinued Gallery range, and we can repair it. Parts are chosen from the model and serial on your tag. A price on paper comes first, and we recommend replacement only when it truly saves you money. The workmanship warranty on this work is 30 days.

What does the outer ring of an expandable element need when it stays cold?
We test the outer ring for continuity and the switch that turns it on. A burned terminal or a failed ring is the usual cause, and we confirm which before replacing it.
My Quick Bake fan runs but the oven bakes unevenly. Why?
Fan speed, a tired element or a drifting sensor could each be the reason. We measure the oven against a separate thermometer and test each part before replacing any of them.
Is an older electric range like this worth repairing?
Frequently it is, when only an element, switch, sensor or fan has worn out. If many parts are tired at once, we say so before any money is spent, and the price is approved in writing.
