FCCS201F
Frigidaire FCCS201F Large Freezer Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Thick frost lining the cabinet walls
- Dial setting that never shuts the compressor off
- Lid hinge that has loosened
- Freezer that feels warm after a power interruption
At 19.9 cu. ft., the FCCS201F is a food service grade chest freezer in white, with a FCCS201FW version also listed. It is one of the larger sizes in this group and an older model that we still see in bulk-storage rooms and shops.
A big chest holds a lot of frozen mass, which helps during a short outage but also means a problem can go unnoticed for days. We look at the frost pattern first, since thick uneven frost points to a leaking lid seal or a hinge that has dropped. Then we test the thermostat and the compressor start parts, and clean the condenser area. After a power interruption we confirm the unit restarts normally and holds its temperature.
Once we have copied the full number from the rating plate, we order only what the test results call for. Our written price comes first, and work is covered for 30 days after the visit.

Error codes this model can show
Why is there so much frost on the walls?
Humid air entering through a poor seal freezes on the cold walls. We check the gasket along the whole lid and the hinges before we recommend defrosting or parts.
What do you check after a power outage?
We confirm the compressor restarts, measure how fast the cabinet cools and check that the control still holds its setting. A unit that struggles after an outage may have a weak start relay.
Does a larger chest freezer cost more to repair?
Parts are often similar to smaller chests, but a sealed-system repair can be more involved. We give a written price after we diagnose it. Sealed-system work costs more on any size, and we tell you so before you approve it.
