PRSC2222A
Frigidaire PRSC2222A Professional Side-by-Side Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Vertical gasket seal on both doors
- Fresh food and freezer temperature
- Crisper seals
- Water line and filter if the unit has a dispenser
The PRSC2222A belongs to the Frigidaire Professional line. This counter-depth refrigerator has side-by-side doors, a 36-inch width and 22 cubic feet inside. The listing names a CrispSeal Plus Crisper, EvenTemp Cooling System, SpaceWise Organization System and Deep Full-Depth Shelving. PRSC2222AF is another number you may find on the label.
Deep Full-Depth Shelving gives you space, but it also puts food closer to the back wall where the vents are. If a shelf is packed to the back, the cold air stops reaching the rest of the section. We check that first on a service call, then test the long vertical gaskets, which are the usual place a side-by-side loses cold air.
Once the sticker has given us the model and serial, the part can be matched. An estimate on paper precedes the work, and the repair is under a 30-day warranty.

Error codes this model can show
Why does food at the back of my PRSC2222A freeze?
Packed shelves or items touching the back wall can sit in the path of cold air. Moving them forward helps. If it persists, we test the vent and the control.
How do you check a side-by-side door gasket?
We run a light and a strip of paper along its full height. A gap or a weak grip means the gasket or the hinge needs work.
Do I need to defrost a side-by-side refrigerator?
Models of this type defrost on their own. If frost builds up anyway, we test the defrost parts and door seals instead of asking you to defrost it by hand.
