What E75 means
A Frigidaire front-load washer with the horizontal-axis electronic control shows E75 when the water temperature sensor circuit is not reading properly. That sensor is a small probe in the tub, and the control uses it to know when the water is warm enough to stop heating. The code appears on the 3.0 cu ft Frigidaire and Gallery washers and on the Affinity 6000 and 7000. With a reading that is missing or out of range, the control cannot manage the temperature. Owners see a stalled cycle or E75, often when a warm wash begins.
Common causes of E75
- Water temperature sensor in the tub
- Wiring or connector to the sensor
- Control board input for the sensor
1. Turn the washer off and try a short cold cycle. 2. Check that water is reaching the washer by confirming both faucets are open. 3. If E75 returns, stop using warm or hot settings. 4. Call us for a sensor and wiring check.
- A bad reading might come from the probe, its wire or the board input, and E75 does not tell us which.
- We test the probe and its connector first and the board last. The price is written down before we replace a part.
- On an older washer, we say plainly when the money is better spent on a new one.
Other Washer codes
What does the temperature sensor do?
It reports how warm the water in the tub is, so the control knows when to stop heating. E75 means that reading is out of range.
Can this be fixed without a new board?
Often the sensor or its wiring is the cause, and the board is fine. We test those first, which keeps the repair smaller and the bill lower for you.
Will cold washes still work?
Often they do, but it depends on how the control reacts to the missing reading. If E75 stops every cycle, the washer needs a visit, and we will tell you what the sensor test shows.
Still seeing E75?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
