What UO (uo / Uo) means
On Frigidaire Professional fully integrated direct-feed dishwashers, such as PLD4555RFC0 and PLD4375RFC0, uo means the control does not receive the right indication that the vent is closed. After five attempts to reseat the vent, the failure appears and the cycle will not start. Newer Frigidaire Gallery dishwashers, such as FGID2466QF and GDPP4517AF, also display Uo. The older models are still in many homes, and we repair them.
Common causes of UO (uo / Uo)
- The vent assembly and anything that keeps it from closing
- The vent position switch and its wiring
- The control that reads the vent position
1. Cancel the cycle and open the door fully. 2. Look for a dish, utensil or part of the rack that could keep the vent from closing. 3. Close the door firmly and start a short cycle. 4. If Uo returns, leave the dishwasher unused and call us to schedule service.
- A vent that does not close can be blocked, worn or reading wrong to the control, and the checks above cannot separate those.
- We watch the vent move and test the switch and wiring before the control.
- On an older dishwasher we tell you plainly if the repair is not worth the cost.

Why will my dishwasher not start with Uo showing?
The control will not run the cycle until it sees the vent closed. After five attempts to close it, the control stops and shows the code. It is the same code and the same idea, even though the vent hardware differs between generations.
Does Uo show on newer dishwashers too?
Yes. Some current Gallery models show Uo as well. The meaning is the same: the vent is not confirmed closed. We check the exact model on the visit. On a newer Gallery model the door and vent design differs, so we confirm the exact model first.
