What UF (uF) means

On Frigidaire Professional fully integrated direct-feed dishwashers, such as PLD4555RFC0 and PLD4375RFC0, uF means the fan is not running. In dry mode the control expects feedback from the vent that the fan is turning at the right speed. When it does not get that feedback, the failure appears and the control shuts the cycle down. You will see uF on the display and the dishes may be wet at the end. These are older dishwashers still in many homes, and we repair them.

Why do my dishes come out wet with uF showing?

The control shuts the cycle down when it does not see the vent fan turning at the right speed, so drying may not finish. We find out whether the fan, the vent or the feedback is the problem. The vent and fan work together, so we check both before deciding on a part.

Can I keep washing and dry the dishes by hand?

You may be able to, but we recommend not repeating the cycle until it is checked. The control stops the cycle on purpose. It is also worth knowing the dishwasher is stopping on purpose, as a protection, rather than failing at random.
