What PF means
PF on a Frigidaire electronic dishwasher with a display means the dishwasher lost power. It appears at power-up and after a power interruption, and on some models the Hi-Temp Wash and No Heat Dry lights also flash. It is used on the 2006 Professional direct-feed models, such as PLD4555RFC0, the 2009 Electronic Series and the i-code generation, including FGID2466QF. The 2006 manual describes it as a drop in power to the processor.
Common causes of PF
- A power outage or brief interruption
- A loose connection or tripped breaker
- The control board if PF appears without an outage
1. Press START/CANCEL to cancel the code. 2. Select your cycle and options again. 3. Press Start to run a new cycle. 4. If PF keeps appearing without an outage, call us. 5. If a breaker tripped, reset it once and call us if it trips again. Check whether other appliances on the same circuit lost power, which points to the house supply. Note the time of any outage.
- A PF with no power outage points to the dishwasher's supply or control, and we test both.
- We check the breaker and connection before the board.
- Written pricing comes before any work.
Other Dishwasher codes
What does PF mean?
PF means the dishwasher lost power. The control wants you to cancel the code and start a new cycle from the beginning. It is not a damaged part.
Do I need a repair for PF?
Not if it followed an outage. If PF appears again and again with steady power, the supply or the control needs to be checked. We test the supply and the control.
How do I clear PF?
Press START/CANCEL, reselect your options and cycle, and press Start. The dishwasher should run normally unless the power problem returns. That is all most owners need to do.
Still unsure about PF?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
