What LO means
LO on a Frigidaire electronic dishwasher with a display means the rinse aid dispenser is low and needs refilling. On the 2006 Professional direct-feed models, such as PLD4555RFC0 and PLD4375RFC0, the control receives a signal from the dispenser that the level is low. On the 2009 Electronic Series the message appears in the window for the same reason. The dishwasher keeps working and only the drying results may suffer.
Common causes of LO
- The rinse aid dispenser is nearly empty
- The level sensing in the dispenser is not reading correctly
1. Open the dishwasher and find the rinse aid dispenser. 2. Refill it with rinse aid, stopping at the fill line. 3. Wipe up any spilled rinse aid. 4. Close the door and run a cycle; if LO stays, call us. 5. Wipe the dispenser lid dry before closing it.
- If the dispenser is full and LO stays, the level sensing needs testing.
- We check the dispenser before suggesting any repair.
- Nothing about LO affects safety.
Other Dishwasher codes
Is LO a serious problem?
No. It is only a reminder that the rinse aid is low. The dishwasher still cleans, though dishes may dry with spots until it is refilled.
I refilled it and LO is still on. Why?
The dispenser's sensor may not be reading the new level. Give it a cycle or two. If LO stays, we can test the sensor at your home.
Do I have to use rinse aid?
It is recommended for drying and spotting. The dishwasher will work without it, but you will see LO until you refill or the sensor setting is changed.
Still unsure about LO?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
