LAFW7000L
Frigidaire LAFW7000L Ready Steam Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Steam and water inlet path
- Door lock and boot seal
- Drain pump and filter
- Shock absorbers and leveling
Look for LAFW7000L, or the LAFW7000LW variant, on the label of an Affinity front-load washer that holds 3.81 cu. ft. and offers Ready Steam in Classic White. It has been discontinued. Houston owners often keep a white washer like this one in a garage laundry area or a hall closet behind folding doors.
The front-load fundamentals apply, and they come first: a door that locks, a drain that clears, inlet screens that flow and a boot that stays dry. If those are fine and the steam cycle still does nothing, we test the parts that supply and heat steam. Water that reaches the drum but never warms points to a different group of parts than water that never arrives.
Parts are chosen from the plate on the washer, which also tells us the revision. A written estimate comes before the repair. You get a 30-day warranty on the finished work.

What does Ready Steam add to a washer?
It adds a steam option on top of the normal wash. For service, that means one more water path to inspect, along with whatever heats the steam.
My washer smells like mildew. Do I need a repair?
Often a deep cleaning of the boot, drawer and drain filter is enough. If the seal is torn or the drain channel holds water, a repair is needed. We check both.
Can you tell if the steam feature is the problem?
Yes. We run a normal wash first. If that works but steam does not, we test the steam path. If nothing works, the problem lies earlier, such as the lock, the inlet or the board.
