Why is the Chill Drawer warmer than I set it?
The damper or the duct may be blocked by ice. We open the panel, clear the ice, test the damper and make sure air reaches the drawer.
Does the freezer column affect the fresh food side?
Yes. A single evaporator serves both, so a fan or defrost problem in the freezer shows up on the fresh food side too. We start with the freezer fan and the evaporator, then check the damper.
Is a counter-depth side-by-side harder to keep cool?
The cabinet is the same, but there is less space behind it. Cleaning the coils and leaving the gap at the back keeps the compressor from running hot.
