FGHB2878L
Frigidaire FGHB2878L Premier Refrigerator Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Fresh food and freezer drawer temperatures
- Ice maker and water filter, if equipped
- Door gaskets and hinge alignment
- Evaporator fan, damper and defrost heater
Part of the Gallery Premier line, the FGHB2878L is a 27.8 cu. ft. French door refrigerator in Ebony Black. It is also sold as FGHB2878LE and FGHB2878LP. The model has been discontinued, which makes it an older unit that is still in many homes.
We handle the Premier line the same way as other French door refrigerators, with extra care for a dark finish that scratches easily. On arrival we measure which section is warm, listen for the compressor and fans, and look at the freezer drawer and door seals. When there is frost, we test the defrost heater and sensor, and when there is water inside, we clear the drain. If the unit has an ice maker, we test the filter, inlet valve and fill tube.
Variants with different endings use different parts in some cases, so we read the label first. The quote is in writing, and the labor is guaranteed for 30 days.

Error codes this model can show
The freezer drawer on my FGHB2878L has frost on the back. What next?
We check the drawer seal first, then test the defrost heater and sensor. Frost from warm, moist air getting in is common, and a drawer that does not close fully is often the cause.
Do you take special care with an Ebony Black finish?
Yes. We protect the floor, avoid dragging the refrigerator and handle the doors by the edges. We do not use abrasive pads or strong chemicals on the finish, and we wipe it down at the end.
What is the difference between FGHB2878LE and FGHB2878LP?
They are finish or revision variants of the same model. We read your label for the full model and serial, since a part can differ by revision, and we quote the price first.
