More often it is the belt or the idler pulley. We open the dryer, check the belt and turn the pulley by hand, and test the motor only if those are fine.
Why does my gas dryer click and then stop?
The control tries to light the burner and shuts down when the flame is not detected. We test the igniter, the sensor and the valve coils to find which step fails.
Is lint near the burner dangerous?
It can be, since lint is flammable and can block the flame. We clean the burner area and inspect the vent, and we recommend a regular vent cleaning.
