FAQE7070L
Frigidaire Affinity FAQE7070L Dryer Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Dryer that stops heating after a few minutes
- Drum that makes a thumping sound every turn
- Dryer that will not start at all
- Lint or warm air leaking from the front of the cabinet
The FAQE7070L is an Affinity electric dryer in Classic White with a 7.0 cubic foot drum. FAQE7070LW is the variant label. This is an older model that still runs in many laundry rooms, and we repair it when the numbers make sense.
A rhythmic thump with each turn usually points to a flat spot on the drum glide or roller, or a belt with a worn spot. If the dryer will not start at all, we test the power at the outlet, the door switch and the start switch before looking at the motor. Heat that disappears after a few minutes is tied to the thermal fuse, the cycling thermostat and a vent that traps hot air.
Each digit on the label goes onto our work order, along with the serial, before any part is purchased. You approve a written estimate, and the job is guaranteed for 30 days.

Error codes this model can show
What causes a thump on every turn of the drum?
A worn roller, a damaged drum glide or a belt with a bad spot. We turn the drum by hand to find the rough spot and replace only that part.
My dryer is dead. Is it the motor?
Not often. The outlet, door switch and start switch are far more common, so we test those first and test the motor only if the rest pass.
Why does the heat quit after a few minutes?
The thermostat or the thermal fuse may be opening because the dryer is overheating from poor airflow. We check the vent and the lint path and test both parts.
