What dF means

A lowercase d followed by a capital F on Frigidaire Gallery and Professional French-door bottom-freezer refrigerators with an electronic display means the control sees no defrost circuit. The same code appears on electronic side-by-side models. The control expects a defrost heater circuit and cannot find one, which points to an open heater, a break in the wiring, or a problem on the main control board. Without defrost the evaporator can frost over, so you may notice weak cooling, ice on the back wall of the freezer, or water on the floor. The reverse order, Df, is a different display and is not a problem.
