What F62 means
On Frigidaire Gallery and Professional electric slide-in ranges from 2009, such as the FGES3045KW, FGES3065KB, FGES3075KF and FPES3085KF, F62 means the control is missing its zero-cross signal, a timing pulse from the incoming power. On later controls, F62 and F63 together report an internal signal voltage error, which shows up as a display communication error. You may see F62 at power-up with the oven not starting or the display behaving strangely.
Common causes of F62
- The electronic oven control and its timing circuit
- The display link to the control
- The power supply feeding the control
- Connections that have loosened
1. Turn the range off and give it a moment. 2. Cut power at the plug or breaker for 30 seconds, then restore it. 3. Check whether F62 returns at power-up, or only after the oven has been used. 4. Leave the control panel closed and the wiring untouched.
- F62 points to the control's own timing, which an owner cannot check from outside.
- We test the supply and the display link, then judge the control.
- You get a written price first, and a plain answer if the age of the range makes a new control a poor value.

What is a zero-cross signal?
It is a timing pulse from the incoming power that the control uses to switch cleanly. When it is missing, the control cannot run properly and shows F62 until the signal returns or the control is checked.
Is F62 related to F63?
On later controls they are grouped together as an internal signal voltage error. We read both the same way and test the display link and the supply first, then the control.
Does a reset help with F62?
It may clear a glitch. If F62 returns, the control's timing is the likely issue, and we test it before recommending a replacement, with a written price given first.
Still seeing F62?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
