What Bucket Full means

On Frigidaire dehumidifiers with a digital display, the BUCKET FULL light comes on and the unit shuts down when the water bucket is full. The same light can come on if the bucket is not seated all the way, because a float switch senses the bucket's position and water level. If you drain through a hose, the light can also mean the hose is clogged and water is backing up into the bucket.

Why is the Bucket Full light on when the bucket is empty?

The unit may not think the bucket is in place. Seat the bucket fully and check that the float is snapped in. If the light stays on after that, the float switch should be checked.

Does Bucket Full mean the unit is broken?

No. It is a normal message that the bucket needs emptying or reseating. The unit resumes dehumidifying once the bucket is back in place and the float switch is satisfied.

My unit drains through a hose and still shows Bucket Full. Why?

A clogged or kinked hose can back water up into the bucket. Straighten the hose, clear any blockage and make sure it slopes downhill all the way to the drain.
