Frigidaire Gallery GCFG3661A 36-Inch Gas Range, Six Burner Repair

Frigidaire range

Most common issues on this model

  1. Six burner ignition and flame consistency
  2. Gas oven igniter and valve response
  3. Total Convection fan operation
  4. Air Fry and Slow Cook control settings

The GCFG3661A is a Frigidaire Gallery 36-inch gas range with a six burner cooktop, the Total Convection System, Air Fry and Slow Cook. The wider body makes it a common choice for larger Houston kitchens that cook for a crowd.

At 36 inches, this range takes more room and weighs more than a 30-inch model, so we plan the pull-out carefully and protect the floor. With six burners there are six caps, ports and electrodes to keep clear, and we test each one when lighting is uneven. In the oven, we check the igniter, gas valve, convection fan and sensor, since Air Fry and Slow Cook depend on steady airflow and even heat.

Current 36-inch gas ranges are part of our regular work, and we bring a second person when the move calls for it. We order from the model and serial on the tag, hand you a written price before starting, and say so if the repair would not pay off. The repair comes with a workmanship warranty that lasts 30 days.

GCFG3661AGCFG3661A questions
One of the six burners on my GCFG3661A does not light. Do I need a new burner?

Usually not. We clean the port, check the cap and the electrode, and test the spark. A new part is needed only if the cleaning does not fix it.

Is a 36-inch gas range harder to service than a 30-inch one?

The work is similar, but the range is wider and heavier, so we plan the move and often work with a second person. We shut off the gas valve before pulling it forward.

What about Slow Cook if the oven runs too hot?

We check the sensor and the control, since Slow Cook holds low heat. If the oven overshoots, a sensor reading off the true temperature is a common reason.
