FAQG7001L
Frigidaire Affinity FAQG7001L Dryer Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Gas dryer that heats for a minute then goes cold
- Igniter that glows but no flame follows
- Clicking sound with no heat
- Clothes that need two cycles to dry
The FAQG7001L is a Classic White Affinity gas dryer with a 7.0 cubic foot drum. Its variant labels are FAQG7001LB and FAQG7001LW. It is an older model, still in service in many laundry rooms, and we repair it when the cost is reasonable.
On a gas dryer the burner assembly is where most heat problems begin. If the igniter glows but no flame appears, the gas valve coils or the gas supply need checking. A dryer that heats and then goes cold may have a flame sensor or a thermal part reacting to restricted venting. We confirm the gas shutoff and the connector first, then follow the sequence one step at a time.
The exact number and serial from the label let us choose the right igniter, sensor or valve part. A written estimate is given first, and the work is guaranteed for 30 days.

Error codes this model can show
The igniter glows but there is no flame. What is wrong?
The valve coils may be weak, or gas may not be reaching the burner. We test the coils, the shutoff valve and the supply line pressure before replacing any part.
Why does the heat last only a minute?
A flame sensor that is dirty or failing can shut the burner off early, and poor venting can also trip the thermal parts. We clean and test the sensor and check airflow.
What does clicking with no heat mean?
The control may be trying to light the burner, but the igniter or valve is not responding. We test the igniter's current and the valve coils to find the weak link.
