What E91 means
E91 on a Frigidaire Affinity 6000 or 7000 front-load washer means the selector LEDs do not light up. The selector is the knob and its ring of indicator lights that show the chosen cycle. The code is listed for the 2006 washers and for the 3.5 cu ft Affinity washers of about 2009 to 2012, not for the earlier 3.0 cu ft design. Owners see a washer that seems to have power but with no cycle lights around the knob, and E91 may show on the display. It is a console circuit condition.
Common causes of E91
- Selector LED circuit on the console board
- Connection between the selector and the control
- Selector knob contacts wearing out
1. Turn the washer off, then on, and turn the selector knob a few positions. 2. Check that the power cord is firmly plugged in. 3. Try starting a short cycle to see if it still runs. 4. If E91 returns, call us.
- Dark selector lights could mean a console board problem, a loose connection or a worn selector.
- We check the selector and its connection first, then the board, and give you a written price before replacing a panel.
- We tell you if the age of the washer makes a new panel unreasonable.
Other Washer codes
My washer still runs but the lights are out. Is that E91?
It can be. E91 means the selector LEDs do not light up. The washer may still run, but without lights it is hard to know what cycle it is on.
Can I replace a bulb myself?
The selector uses LEDs on a circuit board, not a bulb you can swap. We test the board and give you a written price. We test the board and give you a written price rather than leave you guessing.
Is E91 urgent?
Not usually. It is a console issue rather than a water or heat problem. We would still have it checked, since panel circuits can get worse.
Still unsure about E91?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
