What F19 (with F15) means

Frigidaire ranges with later electronic oven controls show F19, often together with F15, when the signal between the oven relay board and the control is lost. The relay board is the part that switches power to the bake and broil elements, so when the control cannot hear it, the oven will not heat. You may see the code appear when you start a bake, or as soon as power is applied, with the elements staying cold.

Common causes of F19 (with F15)

  • The wiring harness between the relay board and the control
  • The oven relay board itself
  • The electronic oven control, which sends the signal
  • A connector that has loosened or overheated
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn the oven off. 2. Take power off the range at the plug or breaker for a short time, then restore it. 3. Start a short bake and check whether F19 comes back. 4. Leave the back of the range closed and the wiring alone.

! Why to stop there
  • Two codes at once tell us the link has dropped, but not which end let go.
  • We test the harness first, then the relay board, then the control, in that order.
  • You will have a written price before we replace any board.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
F19 (with F15)F19 (with F15) questions
Why do I see F19 and F15 together?

They describe the same lost signal from two sides, which is why many ranges show both. We treat them as one problem and test the link between the relay board and the control first, then the boards.

Will the oven heat at all with F19?

Usually not, because the control cannot confirm that the relay board is listening. The safest course is to leave the oven off until we have looked at it and seen what is happening.

Is this worth fixing on an older range?

Often a harness or connector repair is, and we say so before we start. If a board turns out to be the cause, we tell you plainly whether that price makes sense for the range.
