What Flashing lights: door not closed means
On Frigidaire electronic dishwashers without a numeric display, the Cycles, Option and Washing lights flash when you press Start/Cancel and the door is not closed. It is the dishwasher's way of telling you the door has not latched. Service data also describes the status lights that were lit when the door was opened as flashing. Closing the door properly usually stops the flashing and the cycle can then start.
Common causes of Flashing lights: door not closed
- The door is not closed or not latched
- The latch or door switch does not register closure
- Wiring to the door switch
1. Check for a rack, dish or utensil blocking the door. 2. Close the door firmly until the latch catches. 3. Press Start/Cancel again. 4. If the lights keep flashing with the door closed, call us. 5. Make sure the lower rack is pushed in fully, since a rack that sticks out can keep the door from latching.
