What SY EF means

SY EF on a Frigidaire Gallery or Professional French-door bottom-freezer refrigerator with an electronic display, and on electronic side-by-side models, reports a failure in the evaporator fan circuit. The evaporator fan pulls cold air from the coil and sends it to the freezer and fresh food sections. When it fails, the cold stays at the coil, so the fresh food side may warm while frost builds on the freezer wall. You may hear no fan, a noisy fan, or see SY EF with food that does not stay as cold as before.
