GMOS1968A
Frigidaire Gallery GMOS1968A Air Fry Microwave Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Air Fry mode that does not get hot
- Convection fan that is loud or has stopped
- Filter door that will not pop open
- Microwave cooking that has gone cold
Not many over-the-range microwaves can air fry, but the GMOS1968A can. This Gallery model holds 1.9 cu. ft., adds convection cooking and includes a PureAir filter behind a push-to-open door. It is a current model, and it is also sold as GMOS1968AF.
Air Fry and convection rely on a heating element and a fan, so when air fry stops working we test those before touching the microwave parts. If the microwave side works but air fry does not, that tells us the door switches and power supply are healthy. We also check that the air fry pan and tray sit correctly, because a wrong setup can make results look like a failure.
Hot air cooking over a stove asks more of the vent, so we check the filter door and the airflow as part of the same visit. Parts are matched to the model and serial on the label. The written price is yours to approve first, and the repair has a 30-day warranty.

My GMOS1968A microwaves but will not air fry. Why?
Air fry uses a different heating system than the microwave. We test the element, the circulating fan and the thermal protection. A working microwave tells us the problem is in that group.
Is the convection fan supposed to be loud?
Some fan sound is normal while hot air circulates. A new rattle, a squeal or a fan that stops points to a worn motor or a bent blade, and we inspect it before suggesting replacement.
Do you need the air fry tray for the repair?
It helps. We test the unit with the tray and pan in place to see how it behaves in normal use, and we check them for warping that could affect airflow.
