Frigidaire FGET2766U Convection Oven Repair

Frigidaire wall oven

Most common issues on this model

  1. Convection fan spin and noise when True Convection is selected
  2. Temperature probe jack and probe reading
  3. Preheat time compared with a thermometer
  4. Heating elements in the upper and lower cavities

The FGET2766U is a 27-inch Gallery double electric wall oven with True Convection, a temperature probe and Quick Preheat. It is also sold as FGET2766UD and FGET2766UF, and it is now an older model that still turns up in many Houston kitchens.

True Convection adds a fan to move hot air around the cavity, so the first thing we listen for is that fan: a rattle, a scrape, or a fan that does not turn when you pick convection. If the fan runs but food still bakes unevenly, we move to the element and the oven sensor. The temperature probe is its own check, because a worn plug or a damaged cable makes the oven ignore the probe.

Quick Preheat depends on the elements and the sensor working together, so a slow preheat tells us something is weakening. We confirm the model and serial printed on the label before we buy parts, give you a written price first, and cover the repair with a 30-day warranty on the workmanship. If the age of the oven makes repair a poor value, we say so.

FGET2766UFGET2766U questions
The convection fan in my FGET2766U is loud. Is it safe to keep using?

A light hum is common, but a scraping or rattling sound usually means a worn motor or a bent blade. We inspect the fan and tell you whether a cleaning, a new blade or a new motor is the right step.

Why does my oven ignore the temperature probe?

The probe jack or the cable is often the cause. We test the probe reading and the connection inside the cavity, then replace only the part that fails.

My preheat takes a long time now. What do you check?

We measure the real oven temperature against the display, then test the elements and the sensor. A weak element or a drifting sensor are the usual finds on a convection wall oven of this type.
