Why will my gas oven not light?
The igniter is the first suspect, since a weak one cannot open the gas valve. We test its current, then the valve and the supply. If we smell gas, we stop and make the oven safe.
Can you smell gas and still use the oven?
No. If you smell gas, turn off the oven and the supply, open windows and leave the area. We can then come to inspect it safely.
What can slow a gas oven down?
A weak igniter, a partly blocked burner or a sensor that reads wrong can all slow heating. We measure the temperature and test each of those parts.
