Frigidaire FCWD3027AS Wall Oven Repair

Frigidaire wall oven

Most common issues on this model

  1. Upper oven convection that blows no hot air
  2. Lower oven that is slow to reach temperature
  3. Self-clean that stops partway
  4. Temperature that runs off from what the display says

Stainless steel, 30 inches wide and stacked two high, the FCWD3027AS is a double electric wall oven with convection in the upper cavity. It also has a self-clean function, and it is a current model.

Because only the upper oven has convection, we treat the two cavities differently. If the upper oven bakes poorly in convection mode, the fan and its element get tested. The lower oven is bake-only, so a slow lower oven points to its element, its temperature sensor or the wiring. When the temperature feels wrong, we compare an oven thermometer reading against the display.

A double oven is built into cabinetry and often shares a circuit, so we shut off the breaker before touching anything. We match parts to the exact number and serial on the label. You see a written price first, and the labor carries a 30-day warranty.

FCWD3027ASFCWD3027AS questions
Why does my lower oven take so long to heat?

The lower element, the temperature sensor or a loose connection can slow it down. We measure the actual temperature and test the parts in order, then tell you what is worth replacing.

Does the lower oven have convection too?

On this model, convection is listed for the upper oven only. If the lower oven does not seem to circulate air, that is how it was built, and we check bake performance instead.

Self-clean quit halfway. Is that dangerous?

Not usually, but we should look. A door lock that did not engage or a sensor that read too hot can stop the cycle. We test those and tell you whether it is safe to run again.
