What F30 means
F30 means the oven sensor connection is open on Frigidaire wall and range ovens with a two-digit electronic oven control. The control cannot read the sensor, often called the probe, so it cannot track oven temperature. On the 2003 wall ovens the probe group shows as F3, with F31 listed as the open sensor. The oven may not heat or may stop.
Common causes of F30
- The oven sensor and its plug
- A broken wire in the sensor circuit
- The control board input
1. Let the oven cool. 2. Disconnect power at the plug or breaker for up to 30 seconds, then restore it. 3. Try a bake cycle again. 4. If F30 comes back, please call us for service. 5. Do not keep repeating the reset, since it will not fix an open sensor.
- The code says the sensor circuit is open, not which part is open.
- We check the sensor and its wiring before the control.
- We say plainly if an older oven is not worth repairing.
Other Wall Oven codes
What is the probe?
It is the sensor that reads oven temperature. A bad connection can read as open even when the sensor is fine. Tell us whether the oven still heats at all.
Why does a 2003 wall oven show F3?
Those controls group the sensor codes under F3. We check the plug first. Bring the model and serial number to the visit if you can find them.
Can you fix this?
Yes. We quote the price in writing first. The part is usually inexpensive when the sensor is the cause. We will explain what we find in plain terms and quote the price in writing before we start any work on the oven.
Still seeing F30?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
