What F11 / F13 (shown as F1) means
On older Frigidaire built-in wall ovens from 2003, the display shows only F1 for several different control problems. F11 is a shorted keypad. F13 means the control's internal check data is corrupted. You see F1 and the oven may stop or refuse to heat. These ovens are still in many homes, and we repair them. These two are control-side problems, and a technician's readout is needed to tell which one your oven has.
Common causes of F11 / F13 (shown as F1)
- A shorted keypad or a pad stuck down
- Corrupted internal control data
- The electronic oven control
1. Press CLEAR. 2. Disconnect power to the oven for 30 seconds, then restore it. 3. Look for a pad that seems stuck. 4. If F1 comes back, call us to schedule a visit. 5. Do not use the oven for baking until it has been checked. 6. Note whether any pad felt stuck.
- The display only shows F1, so we cannot tell F11 from F13 without a readout.
- We read the exact code and check the keypad and its connection before the control.
- We tell you plainly if an older oven is not worth repairing.
Other Wall Oven codes
Why does my wall oven only show F1?
Older wall ovens fold several codes into F1. A technician can read the exact one. Both are control-side problems, a keypad and a data check.
Do F11 and F13 mean the same thing?
F11 is a shorted keypad. F13 is corrupted control data. The display folds them into one code on these ovens. Tell us whether any pad felt stuck before the code showed.
Do you fix older wall ovens?
Yes. The price is in writing before we begin. A technician's readout names which one it is. A technician can read the exact code that the display folds into F1.
Still seeing F11 / F13 (shown as F1)?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
