The PL36WC40E is a 36 in wall mount chimney hood in the Frigidaire Professional line, finished in stainless steel. It no longer appears among current products, yet we still see it above 36 in gas and dual-fuel cooktops in Houston homes. The number is also sold with a C ending, PL36WC40EC.
At 36 in, this hood is wider than the common 30 in size, so it is usually matched with a larger cooktop or a professional-style range. A wide hood has more filter area and a bigger blower housing, and that is where we spend most of our time: the fan wheel, the motor and the connection to the duct.
