The FGHT2055V is a Frigidaire Gallery top freezer refrigerator with 20 cubic feet and a Garage Ready design. Many people buy this type to sit in a garage or utility room.
A garage in Houston gets hot, and any refrigerator out there works harder. We keep that in mind when we diagnose. Dust and lint on the condenser coils are the first thing we look at, then the fan, the door seals and the airflow between the freezer and the fresh food section. A top freezer unit also has a drain that can clog and drip water onto the floor or into the crispers, so we check it.
Once we have the exact number and serial from the label, we order only what the unit needs. Our estimate is written ahead of time, and the work is covered by a 30-day workmanship guarantee.

Will a Garage Ready refrigerator still struggle in a hot Houston garage?
It is built for that setting, but heat still raises run time. Keeping the coils clean and leaving space behind the cabinet helps it keep its temperature. We check both on our visit.
Water is collecting in the bottom of my fresh food section. Why?
The defrost drain at the back wall is probably clogged with ice or debris. We clear it, check the drain pan and make sure the water flows away from the cabinet.
What does the Auto Humidity crisper need from service?
Mostly a good seal and a free-moving drawer. We check the drawer glides and the gasket, and make sure nothing blocks the air path that feeds the crisper.
