What DI SP means

DI SP on a Frigidaire Gallery or Professional French-door bottom-freezer refrigerator with an electronic display, or on an electronic side-by-side with a through-door ice dispenser, tells you ice cubes have been stuck in the ice chute for a while. The control sounds a tone to get your attention. The jam keeps the dispenser from delivering ice, and sometimes cubes melt and refreeze into a clump near the chute opening. The message points to ice in the way, not to a failed part, and it is usually something you can see from the front of the dispenser.

Cubes frozen together in the chute, often after the ice melted and refroze
A full or clumped ice bin that sends too much ice toward the chute
A chute flap or opening that is blocked or partly frozen

1. Check the dispenser chute and clear any ice you can see and reach. 2. Remove the ice bin, let it thaw, empty it and wash it. 3. Dry the bin and reinstall it fully. 4. Wait for the unit to make fresh ice before you use the dispenser again.
