The GCCG3046A is a 30-inch Gallery gas cooktop with a PowerPlus burner, a low simmer burner, backlit LED knobs and burner caps listed as dishwasher safe.
Washable caps are handy, but a cap that goes back on a quarter-turn off can leave the burner lighting badly or not at all. That is the first thing we correct. We then check the ports for trapped water or food, and test the igniter and spark module. On the low simmer burner, a flame that disappears at the lowest setting can mean dirt at the port or a valve that needs service.

My burner will not light after I washed the caps. Why?
Water left in the cap or a cap placed slightly off can block the spark. Dry everything and reseat the cap. If it still will not light, we test the igniter and spark module.
Why does my simmer flame blow out?
A blocked port or a valve problem can do it. We clean the burner and relight it, then test the valve at its lowest setting before suggesting a part.
Is the PowerPlus burner different to repair?
The steps are the same as the other burners: ports, igniter and valve. The part numbers are different, so we read the label to match them.
