Why does only part of my expandable element heat?
Each ring has its own coil and switch contact. If the inner ring works and the outer ring is cold, one of those two parts has failed, and we test both before quoting.
My 3,200W element is slow to boil water. What do you check?
We measure the coil, inspect the terminal for burn marks and test the switch feeding it. Any of the three can reduce heat, and you pay only for the part that failed.
