Frigidaire cooktop

Most common issues on this model

  1. Elements that do not detect a pan
  2. Bridge element that will not join zones
  3. Heat shutdowns tied to the fan or vents
  4. Scratched or cracked glass near the zones

The GCCI3067AB is a 30-inch Gallery induction cooktop with four elements, a bridge element for griddles and a glass surface in black. It is an older model still in many Houston kitchens, so we repair these units and say plainly when the cost is not worth it.

The bridge element is meant for large griddles, so an odd result there is a good place to begin. We test the two zones apart, then together, to see whether one half is failing. For all four elements we check the cookware first, because a pan with too little magnetic material is the most common reason an induction zone stays off.

Black glass shows scratches and rings, but cracks near an element need a closer look because they can let moisture reach the electronics. We read the model and serial from the label before ordering any board, and you will see the price before we begin.

GCCI3067ABGCCI3067AB questions
Why will my griddle not heat across both zones?

The bridge element joins two coils. If only one heats, the other coil or the link between them may have failed. We test both zones alone and together.

Is an older induction cooktop worth repairing?

If the repair is a fan, a connector or a single zone, often yes. If the glass is cracked or boards are no longer available, we tell you directly so you can compare with a new cooktop.

Why does my cooktop say it does not see the pan?

The pan may be too small or not magnetic. A magnet that sticks flat to the bottom is a good test. If the pan is fine, we test the coil and its board.
