The FGEC3068U is a Gallery 30-inch electric cooktop listed as a Fits-More design, with Quick Boil and SpaceWise expandable elements. B and S endings are finish versions of the same number.
This model is meant to drop into an existing counter opening, so many are installed as replacements in older Houston kitchens. Why does my breaker trip when I turn on one burner?
A shorted element or a damaged terminal connection is the usual cause. We isolate the element, test it with a meter and check the wiring, then quote the repair in writing before we start.
Does the Fits-More design change how you repair it?
The elements and switches are serviced the same way as on other electric cooktops. We just verify the cutout and the terminal connections, and match parts to the number on your label.
My expandable element only heats part of the way. What is wrong?
One coil of the two-ring element or its switch contact has probably failed. We test both and replace only what is open. If the element is no longer available for your number, we say so up front.
